Porter Research and Billian's HealthDATA Webinar on Providers’ Perceptions of ARRA Legislation Attracts Record Number of Attendees

Marketing, research and consulting firm Porter Research recently partnered with Billian's HealthDATA, a leading provider of healthcare business information, to present its first webinar, "The Road Traveled: Providers' Perceptions of ARRA Legislation from Inception to Meaningful Use."

The web seminar delved into the results of a hospital executive study conducted by Billian's HealthDATA and Porter Research last year, following legislative approval of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). Results were presented and compared to a follow-up study measuring changes in provider perceptions, following the release late last year of expanded "meaningful use" requirements.

Webinar attendees gained insight into the views of providers at the time of the ARRA/HITECH Act's approval; and learned about the impact that "meaningful use" clarification had on providers' views of the legislation, influences on provider technology decision-making, and how one hospital CIO - Guy McAllister, AVP and CIO, Tift Regional Medical Center- is navigating this legislation within its organization.

In addition to McAllister, speakers included Allison Norfleet, Vice President of Business Development at Porter Research; and Jessica Clifton, Marketing and Product Manager at Billian's HealthDATA. Mike Millard, Managing Editor of Healthcare IT News, served as moderator.

The webinar attracted nearly 600 registrants and nearly 250 attendees - numbers that clearly indicate an interest in the  timely topic. "We knew we had industry feedback on a topic that was relevant to healthcare players across the board.
