Porter Research to Compile Healthcare Informatics’ Annual List of Top 100 Companies In Healthcare IT

Marketing, research and consulting services firm Porter Research will assist healthcare IT publication Healthcare Informatics (HCI) in compiling its annual list of the Top 100 Companies in Healthcare Technology by Revenue for 2009. Strategic consultancy firm ST Advisors, LLC will work with Porter Research to provide a strategic perspective to this year's list.

Now in its 17th year, the list reflects a dynamic industry fueled by strategic acquisitions, market consolidations and the entrepreneurial tenacity of businesses new to the healthcare IT field. Published each year in HCI's June issue, the list also serves as a helpful resource for hospital CIOs in the market for new partners and vendors, illustrating where other providers are spending their healthcare IT dollars.

The list provides each company's revenue derived from healthcare IT for the past three years, mergers and acquisitions for the past two years, source of major revenue, IT solutions currently offered and the two highest levels of company executives, as well as basic contact and historical information.

A new section is being added for new emerging/growing companies that do not make the Top 100 but stand poised for big things in 2011 and beyond.

"We are very pleased that HCI has entrusted us with analyzing and reporting this data," said Porter Research President Cynthia Porter, who will lead the project. "This list will give HCI readers, and the industry as a whole, a great snapshot of the movers and shakers in the healthcare IT industry."

Companies interested in being considered for the list must complete an online survey at http://www.healthcare-informatics.com to determine their eligibility. The survey will be available March 15-April 16.
